A Forest’s Tune
An Audio Participatory Site-Specific Tour at Hulda Forest (30 mins).
A late night audio tour at Hulda Forest, to experience the never-ending symphony that lives in the first experimental forest planted in the Land of Israel.
The work refers to the spatial memory of the forest and to Herzl’s House next to it, creating a connection between past, present and future within the participant’s experience.
The existing sounds of vegetations, earth and forest’s animals are amplified in the ear of the participant, alongside sounds that invite you to imagine what this forest was imagined to be when planted, and what might happen to it in the future.
The audio traces the lost pioneering sounds that emanated from the forest at the beginning of the last century, which is interrupted throughout by human disturbances, similar to human interventions in the land - whether it is leveling its earth or paving a road.
