Future of Death / Part 6

A Live Performance with 40 people and tons of Earth

Yaffo 23 Gallery Bezalel, 2011 (60 mims)

What changes of heart made on the verge of death?… how this knowledge can be put into practice in our lives now? Why do we wait until it’s too late?

A live performance encompasses tons of earth & 40 people who gradually bury each other in front of an audience.

A person enters the space & lies down. A 2nd person enters carrying earth, buries the 1st & lies down. A 3rd enters, buries the 2nd & lies down. This continues until a live sculpture of massacre is created over 50 minutes. This was part of an evolving body of work exploring the interrelationship between living & dying (Jaffa 23 Gallery Jerusalem 2011, ICA London, Vienna, Ljubljana, Dortmund).
